Doug and Joan’s Drive – Sunday, October 4th: Cruise the Glooscap Trail from Windsor to the Masstown Market (weather permitting)

11:45 Meet-up behind the Petro-Can/Tim Hortons just off the roundabout at 101 Hwy exit 5A in Windsor for a 12:15 departure

12:45 Arrive at the Camera Obscura in Cheverie for a 45 minute stop to experience the camera, explore some of the  trail, enjoy the scenery or simply socialize. You could also have a bit to eat should you wish to bring a picnic lunch with you. Note that, at last visit, the park has just one pit toilet and two picnic tables.

1:30 Depart towards Truro on the Glooscap Trail via the Burntcoat Loop with a 30 minute enroute stop at Maitland to visit the Frieze and Roy General Store, which is the oldest continually operated store in Canada, or simply have a stretch and socialize.

3:30 Arrive at the Masstown Market. This is the official end of the run however you may wish to have something to eat or shop the Market before heading out towards home

If you haven’t driven this stretch of road in a while, the roads are very good and the scenery is great along the Noel Shore. Please note that we ask that all participants bring a mask and follow public health guidelines with regards to appropriate social distancing when not in your vehicle.

Your hosts for this run are Doug and Joan Butt, cell 902 389-6375 or on channel 5 during the cruise.

2020 CCNS AGM: We will hold our 2020 AGM at the Courtyard Marriott in Dartmouth (same place as last year) on Sunday, Oct 18th from 1pm to 5pm. To space people out, they will expand the room but only charge the same rate as past year. They have implemented higher cleaning standards and an “in one door and out the other“ policy. We ask the use of a mask and sanitizer just to be safe. Thank you and hope to see you all there!

Wednesday Night Cruises: With darkness falling early this time of year, the Wednesday night cruises have concluded for 2020. Thank you to all those who were able to make it out throughout the summer and thank you to Calvin and Orrie for organizing!

COVID-19: Any CCNS events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be communicated via email and posted on the website. Stay safe and healthy and please wear you mask and wash your hands!
